Egg-Free Coffee Ice Cream Recipe

Coffee ice cream can be one of the best treats in the world. It is sweet and creamy, and the coffee adds complexity. With low-acid coffee, your coffee ice cream can be even smoother and more delightful. The recipe is free from eggs and simple to make.

How to Make Egg-Free Coffee Ice Cream

This is a simple recipe, from the ingredients to the method. Just mix the ingredients together and refrigerate them for 1 to 2 hours before adding them to your ice cream maker. When it is ready, you can store the ice cream in the freezer until you are ready to serve it.

Why Would You Make Ice Cream Without Eggs?

Ice cream traditionally has eggs, but you may be reluctant to use them. When you add eggs to ice cream, you need to choose between using raw eggs, which can have contaminants, and following a complicated set of instructions for cooking the eggs before using them in the recipe. With egg-free recipe, you don’t need to worry. Also, don’t worry about the texture. The ice cream comes out just fine without eggs.

Best Coffee for Ice Cream

The predominant flavor in coffee ice cream is coffee, so it is important to choose the best one. A low-acid coffee lets you avoid bitter or sour flavors from a regular, highly acidic, coffee. Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee is also free from mold and mycotoxins, as well as heavy metals. Brew it strongly to make sure you get full flavor!

If you are having this ice cream in the evening for dessert, you might want to use a decaffeinated type of coffee. Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee comes in Regular, Half Caff, and Decaf varieties so you can choose how much caffeine goes into your ice cream.

Variations of Coffee Ice Cream

You can always add your own twist to coffee ice cream.

  • Reduce the fat by using half-and-half instead of heavy cream, or reducing the cream and substituting milk.
  • Make it sugar-free with a sugar substitute, such as monk fruit.
  • Stir in chocolate chips or blend in baking cocoa for a mocha-inspired blend.
  • Use banana puree instead of half of the cream to reduce the fat content and add delicious flavor.
  • Make it plant-based, or vegan, by using ingredients such as coconut cream and oatmilk.

You can serve this coffee ice cream on its own, with whipped cream, or with cookies. You can make a float with cream soda, or add a scoop to hot or cold coffee. Enjoy it your way!
