Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

If there’s one thing that says, “Happy Fall!,” it’s a pumpkin spice latte. It has become an autumn staple and a sensation since it was made popular by the famous coffee store chain. But - dare we say - there are other ways to make pumpkin spice latte!

This version of iced pumpkin spice latte isn’t as sweet. That leaves more of an opportunity for you to taste the other flavors, like pumpkin, delicious coffee such as Alex’s Low-Acid Coffee, and fall spices. This version is super creamy, and it has plenty of room for you to add your own touches. Here we go!

Best Coffee for Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte

Let’s start with the base: the coffee. For a drink like this, a mellow, balanced blend is best. Alex’s Low-Acid Coffee is smooth and has less of a bitter taste than most coffee, since it’s lower in acid. It’s also a great choice because it comes in Regular, Half Caff, and Decaf versions, so you can make your drink with as much or little caffeine as you like. Decaf may be best in the afternoon if you want to be able to sleep well at night!

Ingredients and Variations for Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte

  • Milk. You can use any type of milk you like, whether it’s dairy milk or coconut, soy, or almond milk. If you have digestive issues or you suffer from acid reflux, skim milk or a fat-free milk substitute may be best.
  • Pumpkin. Here, we’re calling for canned pumpkin puree, not spiced and sweetened pumpkin pie filling. If you have extra pumpkin puree, you can use it in recipes such as pumpkin coffee bread or pumpkin cookies with mocha frosting.
  • Maple Syrup. It adds a delicious drop of sweetness. Sugar works fine, too, if you don’t have maple syrup. A low-calorie sugar substitute or brown sugar substitute is another good choice if you are looking for a lower-calorie beverage.
  • Spices. You can use cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, or opt for pumpkin pie spice. The amounts you add should depend on your tastes. You can also sprinkle some on top, over the whipped cream. For a nice touch, you can serve your iced pumpkin latte with cinnamon sticks.
  • Whipped topping. Coconut, dairy-based, or other: anything works! It’s optional, but it definitely adds some creaminess to your day!
