    Keto Coffee Recipe

    Keto Coffee Recipe

by Alex Brecher March 10, 2023

Keto coffee can help you hit your macros on a keto diet, and it is absolutely delicious and satisfying. Keto coffee is a high-fat version of coffee that is amazingly creamy. Make it with a great-tasting brand of coffee, such as Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee, and you may never go back.

Here is a simple keto coffee recipe. You can make it in less than a minute, and tweak it to meet your needs and tastes.

    High-Fat Coffee

Coffee is technically keto-friendly, since it is free from carbs, but how can it help you hit your macros on a high-fat keto diet? Add butter, of course! Adding butter to coffee makes it high in fat, but unbelievably creamy. To further up the thick, creamy texture, along with the saturated fat content, this recipe includes coconut oil, too. You can alternatively use MCT oil if you prefer.

    Keto Additions

This recipe has only 3 “required” ingredients: brewed coffee, butter, and coconut oil or MCTs. But there are many ways you can tweak it to customize your drink. For example, you can use unsalted butter and salt, optionally, or choose salted butter. You can also add cream to make it even richer.

You can drink this keto coffee “black” or as is, but you can also consider many different, keto-friendly, additions to make it fancier or more your own. These are some ideas.

    • Unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk to make it even sweeter.
    • Sugar-free chocolate, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, or other syrup.
    • Whipped cream, as a topping while serving.
    • Sugar-free chocolate, cocoa powder, or 100% dark chocolate shavings for serving.
    • Ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick for serving.

You can also turn this into an iced coffee beverage by pouring it over ice, or have it as a smoothie or milkshake with keto ice cream.

    Serving Suggestions

This is a great coffee to give yourself a high-fat boost for breakfast, without adding carbs. Starting the day off right can help you hit your macros by the end of the day. You can have this on its own, such as first thing in the morning or mid-morning.

Another option is to pair it with low-carb fare. For breakfast, you can try items such as bacon or sausage egg muffin cups, scrambled eggs with cheese, or berries and cream.

If you’re having your keto coffee as part of a snack, these are some sample keto-friendly snacks that can go well with it.

    • Cheese crisps
    • Nuts
    • Sausage stick or jerky
    • Cheese wedges or sticks
