This no churn coffee ice cream is easy to make and it only takes a few ingredients. You don’t even need an ice cream maker. All you need is a beater to get the cream to form stiff peaks. It’s an amazing way to get more of that coffee taste you love in a decadent dessert. For best results, choose a fresh coffee that tastes great, such as Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee.
Instant or Regular Coffee?
Many coffee ice cream recipes use instant coffee or brewed coffee, but this one’s different. It calls for ground coffee beans. There’s a reason for that. They give it a strong coffee taste and neat texture that’s dotted with bits of coffee beans. It looks beautiful and gives your taste buds a treat.
Choosing Your Coffee
Since you’ll be able to taste the coffee distinctly and notice it with your other senses, it’s best to think twice about which brand you’ll use. A low-acid brand tastes smoother and less bitter than a brand with more acid. Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee is guaranteed fresh, has a reduced acid content, and is certified organic. Choose Whole Bean Coffee if you want to grind your own, or Ground Coffee if you prefer.
There isn’t that much coffee in this recipe compared to in a large cup of regular coffee, but you still might want to think about caffeine. If you’re super sensitive, or you’re planning to have this dessert in the afternoon or at night, you might want to consider using decaffeinated coffee. Alex’s Low-Acid Organic Coffee comes in Whole Bean and Ground Decaf varieties.
Preparing Your Coffee
If you are using whole bean coffee, grind the beans to a fine texture. If you’re using ground bean coffee, you’re ready to go! Either way, you need about 3 tablespoons of coffee grinds.
