Grown in southern Mexico near the Guatemalan border, these beans share the same volcanic soil and high-altitude characteristics as Guatemalan coffees. They are mild and delicate, with slightly sweet notes of brown sugar and pear, along with a gentle nutty finish.
Certified Organic by Organic Certifiers. Our Chiapas beans come from an organic cooperative founded more than 20 years ago by five indigenous Mayan tribes. Concerned about soil health and sustainability, they worked to restore their land and communities. Over the years, the co-op has built a hospital, a school, and a modern milling facility. They also established a women’s center and a lending institution that supports small local businesses. Today, the farmers earn more than three times the income of conventional coffee growers.
