Why low acid
Smooth by design, measured by a lab
Coffee's acidity comes from many compounds. Chlorogenic acids (CGAs) are among the ones that shape the sharp, bitter edge in a cup, and roasting time and temperature decide how much of them is left.
- 1100% organic Arabica. Arabica beans naturally carry lower CGA levels than Robusta.
- 2Convection roasted. Hot air heats each bean evenly from skin to core.
- 3A slower, lower-temperature finish. It reduces CGAs further without over-darkening the beans.
- 4Independent testing. Third-party labs test for pH, chlorogenic acids, pesticides, mycotoxins and heavy metals.

How to brew
Ready for your brewer
- Measure. Start with 15g, about 2 tablespoons, per 8 fl oz of water.
- Brew. Drip, pour-over or French press. Use water just off the boil, about 195 to 205°F.
- Adjust. More coffee for a bolder cup, less for a lighter one.
- Store well. Reseal the bag and keep it cool and away from light.

How much caffeine is in it?
French Roast, Rise & Shine and Espresso are fully caffeinated. Half Caff has about 50 mg of caffeine per serving, roughly half of a standard cup. Decaf is decaffeinated with the Mountain Water Process, which uses water to remove the caffeine.
Description
If you love coffee but it doesn’t always love you back, Alex’s Low Acid Organic Coffee™ Decaf Fresh Ground lets you enjoy a smooth, flavorful cup without the acid or the caffeine. It is perfect for anyone who wants a rich, satisfying coffee that is gentle on the stomach and easy to enjoy day or night. Satisfaction guaranteed.
More than 30 percent of coffee drinkers experience heartburn, reflux, or stomach discomfort after coffee. Many assume the problem is acidity, but that is not the full story. Coffee naturally contains many acids that add depth and flavor. The real irritant is a compound called Chlorogenic Acid, especially CQA 3, 4, and 5. These compounds occur naturally and can increase significantly during drum roasting.
Most coffee roasters use drum roasters, where beans come into contact with hot metal. We take a different approach. Our patented convection roasting system uses a stream of hot air, so the beans never touch steel. This process ensures an even roast and significantly reduces Chlorogenic Acid levels. The result is a clean, smooth coffee that is gentle on your stomach.
Our decaf is made using the Mountain Water Process, which removes caffeine naturally without harsh acids or chemicals. The flavor remains rich and balanced, while the coffee stays pure and easy to enjoy. Sip your coffee without worrying about heartburn or sleepless nights.
If you are skeptical, that is understandable. There is a lot of conflicting information about coffee and acidity. Our process is supported by research from Dr. Taka Shibamoto, Distinguished Professor of Environmental Toxicology and Director of the UC Davis Coffee Center. His studies show that high levels of Chlorogenic Acid contribute to both bitterness and stomach irritation in coffee.
Alex’s Low Acid Organic Fresh Ground Decaf Coffee™ is made from 100 percent pure Chiapas coffee beans. Grown in southern Mexico near the Guatemalan border, these beans share the same volcanic soil and high-altitude characteristics as Guatemalan coffees. They are mild and delicate, with slightly sweet notes of brown sugar and pear, along with a gentle nutty finish.
Certified Organic by Organic Certifiers. Our Chiapas beans come from an organic cooperative founded more than 20 years ago by five indigenous Mayan tribes. Concerned about soil health and sustainability, they worked to restore their land and communities. Over the years, the co-op has built a hospital, a school, and a modern milling facility. They also established a women’s center and a lending institution that supports small local businesses. Today, the farmers earn more than three times the income of conventional coffee growers.
Alex’s Low Acid Organic Fresh Ground Decaf Coffee™ is everything great coffee should be. It is rich, balanced, aromatic, and smooth, with no bitterness or acidity. It is also socially and environmentally responsible, supporting a thriving farming community and a better cup for you.
Need more proof? Try it for yourself. We have heard from hundreds of satisfied customers who enjoy Alex’s Low Acid Organic Coffee™ without any of the stomach discomfort they experienced from regular coffee.
For best freshness, store your coffee in an airtight, opaque container made of glass, metal, or ceramic, and keep it in a cool, dry place. Avoid the fridge or freezer, as coffee can lose moisture and absorb unwanted flavors.
